Kissing and Telling

We all spend so much time not saying what we want, because we think or know we can’t have it, and because it sounds ungracious, or ungrateful, or childish, or whatever. It’s like everybody in the whole world knows how to talk, but nobody knows what to say. Really, what’s the point of that? Maybe you don’t have to always say it out loud, if it’s going to get you into trouble, but whatever the truth is that you’re feeling inside of you, say it to yourself, at the very least.

“I was really glad that I came all the way out to see you tonight.”

“I would be very happy if you could be with me for a long time.”

“You are a really terrible kisser.”

“I wish you were taller.”

“I wish I had a shitload of money.”

“I wish all the Bulgarians would just go back to fucking Bulgaria.”
